MIDWINTER in Sweden Yesterday Janie arrived back in Sweden, after spending 2 beautiful weeks in Berlin celebrating German Christmas Season in Lock-Down style. For last night's winter solstice Janie and I decided to spend the longest and darkest night of the year outside under stars in our newly created outdoor bed floating above the water on our raft. Snuggled up and tucked in with 3 sets of blankets, laying on top of incredibly warming reindeer skin, wearing our hats and scarves we were just about to float off into our dreams when we suddenly noticed green dancing lights shining above the lake. Big, dark clouds tried to cover up the Northern Lights as if they wanted to proof that this night was meant to be pitch black. Nevertheless the magical lights kept coming back highlighting the sky again and again in fluorescent green and orange. Thankful for this experience so close to Christmas it was definitely a beautiful gift from Mother Nature showing us once again that darkness holds so much magic if you dare to be with it.
